The appeal
Across its seven generations, produced from the 1960s to the 1980s, the Mercury Cougar has always sat somewhere between a big, personal luxury coupe and a ferocious muscle car. The third generation offered more comfort and space than the earlier models, while still retaining the sporty style that gradually faded on later versions.
This bespoke build takes that concept even further by pairing a bold look with top-tier performance. Originally equipped with a 351 ci V8, this Cougar now receives an imposing 460 ci V8 (7.5 liters), the work of specialist Rudy Wessely at Performance Products. Fed by a Quick Fuel Technology carburetor and fitted with a supercharger, this big-block stroker is the heart of a €32,000 preparation package that also includes upgrades to the transmission, differential, and exhaust.
On the styling front, the car wears a dark metallic red paint job, Ridler five-spoke chrome wheels, and a fully reconditioned red-and-black interior, finished with diamond-quilted stitching.
With only 8,000 km covered since completion, this Cougar is presented in excellent condition. The seller states that it runs and drives perfectly. For fans of American cars, it’s a fantastic opportunity to acquire a true showpiece.007.JPG11.47 MB
