The Appeal

The name ‘Stag’ began as a development codename when Giovanni Michelotti initiated the design project in 1965. Despite various alternative names being proposed during development, none managed to surpass the original. Over half a century later, the Triumph Stag has earned its place as a cornerstone of the classic car scene. Its elegant Michelotti-designed lines combined with the indulgent performance of a V8 engine make it both a visual delight and a joy to drive. Today, it stands as one of the most beloved British classics, frequently seen in numbers at car shows, a testament to a loyal and enthusiastic community that keeps the Stag spirit alive.
The Stag represents one of the great missed opportunities of the British motor industry. Though it never achieved the sales success it deserved, its relative rarity today only enhances its collectability. With its European-inspired styling, practical four-seat configuration, comfortable ride and personality that German contemporaries struggled to match, a well-kept Stag remains a highly rewarding find.
This particular late MkII stands out with its flamboyant Mimosa Yellow exterior and black interior, a quintessentially 70’s colour scheme that still looks bold today - practically purpose-built for admiring glances at your local car show. Having benefited from consistent specialist upkeep to ensure the car is ready to be enjoyed, this Stag is crying out for its next custodian.
