One of motorcycling’s most celebrated air-cooled boxer twins, the BMW R100/7 is also becoming a firm favorite among custom builders. The squat mechanical layout and wide ‘airhead’ front-on profile of the R100/7 make it a fine basis for an even more distinctive variation on the stripped-back, low-slung ‘brat’ aesthetic.
 
This 1977 example has been rebuilt in brat style by Kevils Speed Shop, a UK-based specialist with a well-deserved reputation for custom-built motorcycles. Completed in 2021, this R100/7 has covered only 460 miles since its conversion, and benefits from a recent carburetor and fuel system service.
 
The bike is almost all-black, with a bright orange fuel tank, gold front forks and yellow-tinted headlight providing contrast. A low-mounted driving light and silver-on-black BMW badges complete the look.
