Recommissioning and interior restoration featured in the July 2026 Citroenian magazine
Extensive history file with stamped service history and MOT certificates
The Appeal
Citroën's legendary penchant for innovation was alive and well in the CX. This handsome, characterful saloon was loaded with a retro-futurist style, with aerodynamic curves, an unfussy profile and, crucially, top-notch tech. The hydropneumatic suspension would have felt very familiar to those who fawned over the DS, and still feels downright space-age some forty years later. It was the last true Citroën machine before Peugeot stuck their oar in, and is oft-recognised as the last of the marque's legendary flagships.
This 1986 example has been well looked after across its ownership. The penultimate keeper's son has confirmed the vehicle was serviced annually at home throughout a 12-year custodianship, and the car comes with a strong supporting history file. The recommissioning and interior restoration carried out during that period were notable enough to be documented in the Citroën Car Club's magazine. Standard and unmodified throughout, this is an increasingly rare opportunity to pick up a truly remarkable French classic. 6-citroen-cx-gti-high-res.jpg507.04 KB
