The Appeal
If Mackenzie Crook’s brilliant new BBC series Small Prophets has whet your appetite for Ford’s much-loved classic coupe, then this listing is for you. This car began life as a special edition Laser, but has been sympathetically and lightly upgraded to blend some great period Capri features, including S-style side stripes and polished RS-style alloys.
Fitted with the fizzy 1.6L ‘Kent’ 4cyl engine plus the later, desirable 5spd gearbox, it is in great, usable condition. The vendor acquired the car in 2022 and has set about sorting some usual Capri issues. There is a new dashboard, parcel shelf and electric aerial. The circuit board and seat stitching have also been attended to and there is an immobiliser fitted. We are told that it has been recently serviced.
Buyers get the reassurance of a lengthy MOT valid to January 2027. That could be the car’s last because it is eligible for Historic Vehicle status from 1st April 1987 based on first registration.
The vendor says:
“Drives extremely well. Due to age has manual choke. engine warms up quickly.”
