The Appeal
Introduced in 1984, the Capri Injection Special brought a refreshing edge to one of the most iconic cars to ever carry the American nameplate. It was a full re-examination of those European Mustang ideals and an impressive step-change - a 160 bhp 2.8-litre fuel-injected Cologne V6 engine, a 5-speed gearbox, a limited-slip differential, 7-spoke RS alloy wheels, and grey/black half-leather Recaro seats. Handsome to the end, and perfectly suited for ever-changing drivers' expectations.
This 1986 Capri was with its main previous registered keeper for 25 years who put most of the miles on the car. On acquiring the Capri he waxoyled the underside and drilled pilot holes in the B pillars, injecting waxoyl into the body frame - all performed 3 times. He maintained the car fastidiously as evidenced by its condition and MOT history. The current owner acquired the car in February 2019, drawn by its low keeper count and condition, and has since stored it in a dehumidified environment. A major reinstatement service has recently been completed to return it to the road, including a cooling system renewal and an engine, fuel, and brake service. The underside has been treated with Waxoyl, and the vendor proudly notes that the car presents in amazing condition inside, outside and underneath.
A thorough history file accompanies the car, and with a fresh MOT valid until May 2027, we understand that this handsome car is now ready and waiting for its lucky new keeper. image.png1.38 MB
