The appeal
The Giugiaro-penned Delta, with its crisp lines, holds a pivotal place in Lancia's history: it allowed the marque to return to the lucrative premium compact segment and, of course, paved the way for six consecutive manufacturers' titles in the World Rally Championship (WRC) and the 46 WRC victories that followed. Nobody has done better, before or since.
Light, agile and practical, the Delta, in whatever specification, deserves to be celebrated. Yet examples like this 1300 are now extremely rare. It is presented in Bordeaux red with a grey cloth interior and remains as it left the factory. Apart from a few minor cosmetic blemishes, the bodywork and interior are in excellent condition.
In 2024, the car benefited from a thorough mechanical overhaul covering the engine, cooling system, clutch, brakes and suspension components, as detailed below. The vendor says it drives very well and is economical on fuel. It holds a French contr\u00f4le technique valid until September 2030.
The vendor says:
'Very good car, excellent fuel economy. Very few models are still in this condition; a friend, knowing I'm a Lancia enthusiast, offered it to me.'
