The Appeal
The SE was Westfield’s track-focused Lotus Seven update. Wider and fitted with independent rear suspension, there’s a strong case to argue that it’s actually much better than Chapman’s original.
The car was available factory or home-built, and this Q-plate 1992 car appears to be one of the latter. It is a pretty example, finished in two-tone Porsche colours of Minerva Blue with Arctic Silver nose and stripe. We’re told it has only covered 13,000 miles from new. It is powered by a 1.8-litre Ford Zetec engine breathing through twin 40 Weber carburettors and managed by a Nodiz Pro ECU and ignition pack from Motorsport Electronics. The chassis features coil-over suspension with adjustable shocks and adjustable brake bias.
We’re told that it has been well maintained. In February 2026, it went to specialist Alan Crossley Motorsports for a cam belt change and full service. The current MOT is said to run to February 2027.
