The Appeal

When Ford took over Jaguar, they did so with an eye for rationalisation and efficiency. It was a relatively minor set of changes to the layman, but between the new car's simplified body construction, improved rustproofing, and revised interior. It brought the formula up to snuff for the discerning '90s GT aficionado, and now sits proudly as a deeply aspirational, capable classic.

Finished in a striking Solid Black, with a rich, contrasting Parchment cabin, this fine XJS was first bought from Creamer Jaguar in Kensington and has since been enjoyed by just five former registered keepers over its lifetime. The car retains its original paintwork with the distinctive coachline, straight panels, and a well-preserved interior.

While currently requiring recommissioning after a period of storage, this XJS offers the potential to own one of the most elegant and powerful GT cars of its era.

History and Paperwork

First registered in 1992
First purchased from Creamer Jaguar in Kensington by one Mr. Butler
Five former registered keepers in total
Traded back to the original dealership in 1997 after covering 35,000 miles
Second keeper in Rutland kept the car until 2001, taking it to 65,700 miles
Third keeper (Gareth from Medstead) owned the car for 9 years until 2010, when it had covered 81,900 miles
Fourth keeper (Mr. Redpath) kept the car until 2017/18
Current owner purchased the vehicle in 2018
Currently showing 92,000 miles on the odometer

Factory Solid Black paintwork believed to be original and appears in smart condition for its age
Body is in good condition with minimal corrosion at the bottom edges of the wheel arches
Surface rust visible on suspension components from recent storage period
Some blemishes and microscratches present on a few panels, consistent with a 30+ year old vehicle
Original coachline down the side remains intact
Sills and valances reported to be in good condition
Wheels would benefit from refurbishment
Three Pirelli P600 and one Potenza tyre fitted, all would benefit from replacement
Full-size spare has compromised sidewall
Contrasting Parchment interior presents well and is generally clean
All electrical components including windows, seats, and sunroof function correctly
Air conditioning has been converted to R134a refrigerant and works well
Two new speakers installed in recent years

New CBC4720 fuel rail seal recently installed
Distributor and rotor arm cleaned and inspected
Brakes reported to be sticking slightly and will require attention
Starts reliably and idles with good oil pressure and coolant temperature
Custom stainless steel exhaust system upgrade installed: AJ6 Engineering TT exhaust
Requires full recommissioning including oil change, brake fluid flush, coolant flush, and brake service
Spare parts included: oil filter, set of belts, fuel filter, and two NOS seatbelt receivers
