The Appeal
The SW20 MR2 was Toyota’s difficult second album. The original AW11 MR2 was so good that offering something even better was a challenged. Toyota solved the problem by looking to Maranello and offering buyers a mid-engined marvel with supercar looks and everyday, real-world dependability.
The Rev 2, colloquially know as the ‘lifesaver spec,’ arrived in 1993 and is the version you want because tweaks to the suspension geometry cured the original’s tendency for snap oversteer. This white GT-i16 1993 car’s 15in alloys and more aggressive bumpers and spoilers identifies it as one of those desirable Rev 2 cars. It is one of the nicest we’ve seen in a long while, reportedly factory standard and with just 55,400 miles amassed by its handful of keepers. Inside and out this T-Bar car looks far younger than its 33 years and a potential show contender. We’re told that the car has been dry stored throughout its life when not in use. A fine example of these entertaining junior supercars.
The vendor says:
“All completely standard factory standard. Drives perfectly, no issues or faults. A very tidy original unmolested example.”
