The Appeal
Here's something you've probably never encountered on UK roads. The JA22 Jimny Landventure was the final iteration of the second-generation Jimny: a turbocharged, coil-sprung, proper low-range 4x4 wrapped in Kei car dimensions. Where UK buyers knew the Samurai, the Japanese domestic market received a different machine: a 658cc turbocharged and intercooled three-cylinder, five-speed manual transmission, coil suspension in place of leaf springs, and air conditioning as standard. The Landventure trim added its own character with geometric-patterned fabric seats, chrome mirrors, specific badging, and a dashboard-mounted compass, altimeter, and barometer cluster.
This example was sourced at auction in Japan in mid-2024 by the current owner, working with specialist importer Torque GT. Low corrosion was a priority, and the vehicle was pre-inspected before purchase to confirm its condition. On arrival in the UK, Torque GT carried out a full inspection, underbody treatment, and addressed minor cosmetic work. The interior is believed to be original, with all instruments and switchgear, including the air conditioning, reported to function correctly. Now registered on UK plates, the seller is selling due to emigration.image.png1.83 MB
