Before Jaguar expanded into the junior executive market with models such as the X-Type and XE, the marque’s reputation was built on large, luxurious saloons that prioritised refinement, comfort and traditional British craftsmanship. At the very pinnacle of the range sat Daimler, whose models offered an even more opulent interpretation of Jaguar’s flagship cars through enhanced trim, unique styling details and an emphasis on exclusivity.

By the late 1990s and early 2000s, Daimler represented the ultimate expression of the Jaguar saloon. Distinguished by its fluted grille and signature brightwork, the marque counted royalty among its customers and became synonymous with understated luxury and effortless long-distance comfort.
