The Mercedes-Benz SLK 230 Kompressor R170 marked the revival of the marque's compact roadsters in the late 1990s. Its defining feature is the Vario electric hard roof, allowing conversion between coupé and roadster configurations. Paired here with a five-speed manual gearbox and the supercharged 2.3-litre four-cylinder engine, this version stands apart from the numerous examples fitted with automatic transmission.
This 1998 example comes from a private collection and is said to have driven to the seller's premises under its own steam. The bodywork and underside are described as particularly sound. The black leather interior shows wear consistent with the car's age, whilst a broken plastic trim panel near the lighting controls will require replacement. The paintwork displays some light scratches and marks of use, along with a small dent on the boot lid. Partial service history is available through several invoices.
