The Appeal
Porsche’s original water-cooled 911 makes a strong case for being all the sports car you ever need. It’s an idea that this attractive, 1999 Carrera 4 firmly leans into. Alongside the 996’s intrinsic appeal, it adds surefooted AWD handling, a versatile Tiptronic gearbox that enables engaging or more relaxed driving styles, and then there’s the choice of full convertible or coupe-style hard top.
The vendor acquired the car two years ago and tells us that the all-important IMS bearing was replaced by the previous keeper. It is a nicely specified car with optional split-rim alloys, popular Arctic Silver Metallic paintwork and dark blue leather cabin. The history file shows regular servicing to 82,252 miles. Based on time and mileage, a fresh service may be due shortly. The current MOT runs to April 2027 with a minor advisory to note. The car features a new fabric roof with glass screen, and a recent sports exhaust.
