The Appeal
If you’re going to take on saloon car royalty, get your ducks in a row. First Lexus gunned for Mercedes with the LS400, then it took aim at BMW’s all-conquering 3 Series with the IS200. Adopting the same RWD and straight six formula, the compact Jap was easily the German’s equal for driveability, performance and looks. But its real trump card was the utterly impeccable way it was built.
Today these cars are popular with JDM enthusiasts and those who want something a little less obvious than a car with a propellor badge. Most tend to have lived hard lives, but not this rather smart Aztec Fire car. It has been in the hands of its single keeper from new and amassed just 78,000 miles. That’s barely run in for the 1G-FE straight six. It is fitted with the relaxing 4spd auto box and nicely specified with beige leather and velour seats, sunroof and original Lexus premium sound system.
The depth of its service history is notable. Almost all maintenance has been carried out by Westfield Motors, an independent Toyota and Lexus specialist, with invoices present throughout. The cambelt kit was replaced at 70,115 miles alongside a new radiator and coolant, and the car was last serviced at 77,433 miles in September 2026 when the rear pads were also replaced.. With a fresh and clean MOT valid until September 2027, this IS200 presents a well-documented, well-maintained example.
The vendor says:
“Great example of a cherished vehicle with history backing no expenses spared.”
