The Appeal
The second-generation NB MX-5 added more power and raised the luxury level, but without sacrificing the traits that made the lightweight, engaging and utterly nimble original so popular. As values of the original rise, these later models offer good value for enthusiasts of these great two-seaters.
This 2001 1.8L Sport has logged under 50,000 miles from two owners. Finished in silver with a black leather interior, it is a tidy and usable example with room to improve. The service records show considerable recent investment, including a new blue mohair hood with a glass rear window in 2023 and a brake overhaul in 2024. The brake work included calipers, rotors, pads and a fluid change. The tires have also been recently replaced.
There are a couple of points to note, but it runs through April 2026, so there is plenty of time to address them if you wish and enjoy a great sports car.
The vendor says:
“Very light to drive. Love having the new hood down. Just don't use it very much.”
