The Appeal
The 2003 Chevrolet Corvette 50th Anniversary Edition was a landmark release created to celebrate fifty years of America’s most iconic sports car. While every Corvette produced in 2003 wore commemorative emblems on the nose and rear deck, the true Anniversary Edition was a specific package most easily identified by its exclusive Anniversary Red Metallic paint, paired with a Shale two-tone interior.
Under the bonnet, it carried the reliable 5.7-litre LS1 V8 producing 350hp and 360lb-ft of torque, allowing the 0–60 mph sprint to be completed in just under five seconds.
This example has been in the hands of its current keeper since 2009. Fair-weather driven and reportedly garage-stored, it shows just over 63,000 miles on the odometer and is accompanied by a stamped service book. The vendor has gone further than mere preservation, however; under the bonnet sits a Paxton supercharger boosting the power output to a reported 560hp, complemented by long-tube headers with Billy Boat tips and an ECU re-map. The result, we're told, is a fabulous driving experience with a soundtrack to match. Cosmetically, the car presents very well, with the striking anniversary paintwork enhanced by upgraded 18-inch ‘C6’ alloy wheels, stainless light louvres, a colour-coded wind deflector, and various removable personalised touches, including Indianapolis 500 “Unofficial Pace Car” decals, and comical “objects in the mirror are losing” lettering on the door mirrors.
With its rarity, long-term careful ownership, strong specification, and a rather fitting cherished plate, this 50th Anniversary Corvette represents a compelling opportunity for the discerning enthusiast.
