Always stored in a garage, extensive WaxOyled and not driven on salty roads
Last service completed in 2025 by local specialist servicer
The Appeal
Before Jaguar donned colourful outfits and promised to "copy nothing" and "delete ordinary", the illustrious British firm produced world-beating luxury grand tourers - the sort of car you-choose to galivant across Continental Europe in. The XKR was a case in point. As pretty as the E-Type and a good deal faster, here was a car that seamlessly blended the best of the old with the best of the new. It was a terrific piece of kit.
This 2004 example stands out in its rare factory Slate Grey, which accentuates its sumptuous curves and feline stance. With only 56,500 miles on the clock and a full service history, this XKR is clearly the one to buy. The vendor is the second registered keeper and has cherished the car throughout their nineteen-year tenure. The service portfolio is fully stamped while its advisory-free MOT runs until 9th July 2027.image.png4.5 MB

This sale is subject to the Car & Classic Terms and Conditions. By bidding and/or making an offer, you also agree to the following:
✓ The seller is registered as a private seller which means consumer rights stemming from EU consumer protection law do not come into effect. However, you are still covered by Car & Classic’s own Terms and Conditions..
✓ We request that a non-refundable fee be paid if you are the lucky winning bidder at auction or if your offer is accepted Please refer to our helpful FAQs and T&Cs for specific rates.
✓ This vehicle is “Sold As Seen”, on an “As Is Where Is’ basis and without warranty. Photos and descriptions are solely for guidance purposes and it's customary to carry out a full inspection of the vehicle prior to purchase for your own peace of mind.
✓ VAT is included in the buyer's fee. VAT may or may not be included in the final bid or offer price, as specified in the listing.
✓ We want a smooth transaction just as much as you do and as such we run all UK-registered cars and motorbikes for sale on Car & Classic through an online HPI check to verify that they show no insurance database markers for damage or theft, and have no finance owing, allowing you to bid with confidence.
✓ We also check whether vehicles are recorded as being written off as part of an insurance total loss claim at the time an advert is placed on Car & Classic and we helpfully provide write-off category labels (Cat C/D/S/N) for your assistance. However, the presence or absence of a label does not guarantee the vehicle’s status and it is always worthwhile carrying out your own full vehicle history check before making an offer on a vehicle.
✓ Buyers are responsible for vehicle collection
or delivery. Importing vehicles may result in additional customs duties and import taxes so it's worth checking beforehand. It is the bidders responsibility to confirm import eligibility prior to purchase.
✓ Unless stated otherwise, you must assume that any cherished, personalised, or heritage vehicle registration is not included in the sale of a vehicle.
Pre-bids
What are pre-bids?
A pre-bid means you're able to place a bid before the official start of the auction. You will be notified whether or not you are the highest bidder when the auction starts.
Hi could you confirm please that you are the registered second owner of the car advertising and selling it? Just some of the prose in replies speaks as if you are a dealer or someone selling on behalf of the owner or on consignment? Thx.

Differential oil change
A proper coolant drain/flush/change rather than merely testing antifreeze concentration
Supercharger/auxiliary drive belts and tensioners

Hi, the car has been serviced by Stratstone of Mayfair, and then has been looked after from 2007 to 2023 by John Skeggs in Leicester. We serviced it last year at Mistermatic, Swansea. These are both Jaguar Specialists. We have every receipt of each service carried out from 2007 to 2025. Having reviewed these documents, it appears that the following have been carried out.
Charger belt was changed at 35k miles the car has been looked after each year by the same garage. I have all the invoices and can send images of them as I don’t wish to mislead as to what has been done. All I would say judging by the receipts this car has been looked after better than any I have seen.
The car has it appears to have been serviced on a regular basis by a very keen specialist.

Thanks, the car seems to be registered as a xk8 rather than a xkr on driver's database/DVLA any idea why?

Hi, we have noticed that. No, I’m not sure. It is a XKR, we have the original invoice to prove that. We have raised it, hopefully it will be changed. Thanks

Hi, I don’t think it has been professionally ceramic coated. However, it has been treated with high quality wax, ceramic protect products and clayed on a regular basis by both ourselves and the previous owner. It has only ever been washed using the 2 bucket method and has been garaged each night and in poor weather throughout both ownerships. There are little to no swirls and the body work is superb. Hope this helps. Thanks.
