The Appeal

Reviving one of the most luxurious car brands of the interwar years and selling it for half a million dollars was a bold move, but a calculated one. The Maybach 57 and the LWB 62 set the benchmark for early 2000s luxury driving: handcrafted, technology-heavy sedans for those with the deepest pockets.

The financial crash helped stymie sales, meaning fewer than 1,500 LWB 62s like this Caspian Black example were sold. These 20-ft cars featured comforts like an electro-transparent panoramic roof, dashboard dials in the roof, and First Class-style reclining rear seats.
