The Appeal
The details are discreet but telling: uprated wheels are the real giveaway and, viewed up close, some bespoke badging, that this car is one of the 200 ‘S’ models. The XKR-S was launched, like the E-Type, at the Geneva Motor Show, in this case as the final flourish of a much-loved model.
Just 200 were made available in a range of bespoke colours. This car is finished in Jaguar Racing Green and looks great with its cream interior and those 20in split rim BBS Perseus alloys.
It is a low mileage car too, having covered just 61,000 miles. The current keeper acquired it in 2020, reputedly from the wife of a Scottish Laird, and has treated it well, including storing it in a heated garage between uses.
The service history shows a run of regular attention. The car comes to market with a recent service and a lengthy, advisory-free MOT. Buy it because it is a collectable XKR or simply because any supercharged X100, particularly the 4.2L 6spd cars, are so great to drive.
The vendor says:
“What don’t I like about this vehicle? It does what it says on the tin drives lovely and the power is extreme if needed it’s comfortable and easy to drive.”
