The Appeal
The W203-generation Mercedes-Benz C55 AMG is a celebrated ‘sleeper’ saloon, pairing a hand-built, naturally aspirated 5.4-litre 'M113' V8 with a thoroughly re-engineered chassis. The 2006 model year marked the final and most refined iteration before the transition to the W204 generation, and with numbers dwindling on UK roads, finding one in good order is an increasingly difficult proposition.
This particular example stands apart as a Japanese import, hand-picked by a collector who travelled to Japan to source it in 2020 before registering it with the DVLA in January 2022. Japanese provenance is particularly desirable for the W203 platform, being less susceptible to corrosion than its UK-market counterparts due to Japan's largely salt-free roads. Finished in Brilliant Silver Metallic over black Nappa leather with Birds Eye Maple wood inlays, it features 10-way electrically adjustable and heated front seats, dual-zone climate control, and an electric glass sunroof.
The current owner is a former Mercedes-Benz technician and has had the car since December 2023. They've cared for it meticulously, including carrying out the latest service themselves. Service history is partial, with documentation covering the car's UK life since import, supported by a file of invoices. The sale includes replacement English-language owner's manuals and a service book.
