The Appeal
The L322 has been famously described by a certain motoring writer and celebrity farmer as all the car you'll ever need. Evo supremo and blue chip car collector Harry Metcalfe agrees. Looking at this handsome Vogue SE we fully concur. It is luxury saloon, all-road 4x4 and practical load lugger all rolled into one.
Not, we suspect, that you would want to put this example to hard work. It really is too good for that. We haven’t seen a L322 as good as this for a while, and it is a testament to its four keepers. Classically finished in Santorini Black metallic, a colour that pings in the light as our photos show, with ivory leather, it looks barely half its age. Even high traffic or vulnerable areas such as the alloys and driver’s bolster appear little used.

Beyond the condition, this really is the Range Rover you want. It has an elevated Vogue SE specification with many options and is fitted with the punchy TDV8 3.6L twin turbo V8 diesel engine that is good for 272bhp. It’s quick and frugal.
The maintenance records support the sense of a well-cared-for 4x4. The service records run continuously at correct factory intervals - or better - from new to March 2025. Since 2024 the brake system has been overhauled with new discs, pads, calipers and all brake pipes, plus fluid. The gearbox has also been flushed, serviced and refilled together with the front and rear axle fluids. Other notable work includes a new turbo. Even the weatherstrips and HID bulbs, have been replaced, in the latter case for high quality Philips items. There are four new quality Pirelli PZero tyres, replacement manifold gaskets, and a new suspension air sensor. Not surprisingly, the MOT has no advisories.
Even 15 years after it left the showroom, a good L322 retains all the class and quality it had when new. This is just such a car.

The 'Ford Lion' V8 turbodiesel engine is a wise choice for buyers because it is both frugal and powerful. This Range Rover has covered few miles for its age and yet been properly maintained. We've detailed the servicing and other maintenance work above. The last service was in March 2025. There is a long list of additional maintenance work since the vendor acquired it a few years ago, including full replacement of brake pipes, discs, calipers and pads so that, in the vendor's words 'the brake system is like new.'
Other recent work includes replacing the turbo due to a sticking actuator and refreshing the gearbox and axle fluids.
