The Appeal
The third (‘NC’) generation of Mazda MX-5 continued this popular model’s successful recipe of a rear-wheel-drive chassis and free-revving engine with a compact two-seat roadster body.
This left-hand drive Club model was imported from the USA to the UK by its original owner. The current owner says they bought the car with 18,000 miles on it and subsequently used it for a tour around Europe in September 2025. The US form of the ‘MZR’ naturally aspirated 2.0-litre 16-valve engine reportedly produces slightly more power than the equivalent engine in Europe.
The car features a Crystal White Pearl exterior, with black door mirrors and dark grey wheels, red graduated ‘MX-5’ graphics running above the sills and ‘Club’ logos on the front wings. This is a post-facelift (‘NC2’) Club trim car and so benefits from the larger grille, darker headlights and new-style fog lights. It also features a black Power Retractable Hard Top, which was designed by Webasto and takes only 12 seconds to raise or lower.
The owner describes the exterior as being in excellent condition and reports that it has recently been valeted and ceramic coated by Absolute Valeting in Blantyre.
Inside, the owner has fitted white vinyl sport seats which feature red seatbelts and red-outlined ‘Club’ logos. The white trim running across the width of the dashboard features a red graduated ‘MX-5’ graphic above the glovebox. The car has been fitted with an upgraded satnav and Apple CarPlay.
The owner states that the car ”starts, runs and drives as it should for a car with 20k miles”.
