The Appeal
The Dutton Reef is one of the most unusual vehicles you are likely to encounter, a genuine amphibious car equally at home on the road as it is on the water. Based on the Ford Fiesta Mk7 Zetec S donor, it pairs a proven 1.6-litre, 120bhp petrol engine with a belt-driven aqua jet drive capable of around 5 knots afloat, while on tarmac it behaves like a conventional rear-wheel-drive car through its five-speed manual gearbox.
This example was manufactured by Dutton in Littlehampton in 2016 using a 2011 Fiesta donor, and registered in 2018. It has been exclusively maintained by a Dutton engineer throughout its life and has proven its amphibious credentials during the Amphib France and Belgium event. Constructed from marine-grade stainless steel and modern plastic composite, it arrives with weather equipment, a depth gauge, and an hour run meter. With a valid MOT until April 2027 and a Boat Safety Certificate, it is ready for new adventures on both tarmac and water.
