2018 Montesa Cota 50th Anniversary Trials bike

Highlights

  • Rare 50th Anniversary edition - only 50 produced
  • Single-cylinder 298cc engine
  • Non-registered example
  • In current ownership since 2019

The Appeal

Celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Cota trials line, Montesa really went all out on the anniversary edition. Only fifty of these editions were built, taking the Cota 300RR and packing it full of premium picks from the parts bin, with a special livery and styling cues inspired by the Montesa D-51 and Impala.
This particular example is offered in true collector's condition, having been carefully preserved since acquisition in 2019. The vendor reports that the motorcycle has been stored in a heated room from new, which has very evidently resulted in a beautifully kept bike.

With its 298cc single-cylinder engine and five-speed manual transmission, it's a hardy piece of kit that's born for trialing, but it's equally a simply superb collector's piece, and one that's well worthy of preservation.

We want a smooth transaction just as much as you do and as such we run all UK-registered cars and motorbikes for sale on Car & Classic through an online HPI check to verify that they show no insurance database markers for damage or theft, and have no finance owing, allowing you to bid with confidence.
✓ We also check whether vehicles are recorded as being written off as part of an insurance total loss claim at the time an advert is placed on Car & Classic and we helpfully provide write-off category labels (Cat C/D/S/N) for your assistance. However, the presence or absence of a label does not guarantee the vehicle’s status and it is always worthwhile carrying out your own  full vehicle history check before making an offer on a vehicle.
✓ Buyers are responsible for vehicle collection
or delivery. Importing vehicles may result in additional customs duties and import taxes so it's worth checking beforehand. It is the bidders responsibility to confirm import eligibility prior to purchase.
