Registration: Legally registered in Finland (and subsequently Latvia) as a 2. 0L "RS2000 motor," making it fully road-legal and TUV/ Technical Inspection compliant.
Parts: High-quality components sourced primarily from Burton Power.
Body & Interior
The restoration focused on creating a clean, high-end "RS" aesthetic:
Interior: Completely new custom interior featuring a black ceiling, new flooring, and a genuine RS steering wheel from a later Ford model.
Build Quality: Most restoration parts were sourced from industry leaders: Motomobil. de, Motorsport-Tools, and Grp4 Fabrications.
Condition: Following a disappointing initial inspection after purchase, the car was stripped and rebuilt to ensure every panel and part met modern enthusiast standards.
All suspension parts, body parts or any other were either purchased new or restored to new condition.
From Rally Inspiration to Road Perfection
The spark for this project was lit a few years ago when my father acquired a Ford Escort MK2 rally car. Standing next to that legend, I realized Latvia was missing its road-going counterpart. The mission was clear: I had to bring one home.
My search led me to an unfinished project in Finland. What started as a plan for a "quick completion" quickly evolved into a three-year obsession. When I realized the chassis didn't meet my standards, I stripped it to the bone for a complete ground-up restoration.
