JDL 276E was first registered on the Isle of Wight 12th July 1967. It remained on the island for 50 years. A lady kept the car for 34 years and kept the mileage down. You can't go very far on the island! It has done only 66, 500 miles in 59 years and only 3, 200 in the last 7 years. The car has a heritage certificate that shows it is still the original colour of Tartan Red with a Black interior. The car was sold to a gentleman in Kent in 2007 and he spent a lot of money having the car restored. He kept the car for 12 years including a couple of years in Virginia USA. The car is in great overall condition both inside and out. The boot and engine bays are very clean and the underside is superb painted red like the rest of the car. The history file has several old invoices for work carried out along with old MOT's, pictures and manuals etc. The interior has new black carpets, black leather (with white trim) seats and black door cards. There is a period radio and speaker (not wired in), a pair of period buckle style seat belts and a Mountney sports steering wheel. The hood is in good condition and comes with a hood tonneau and a full tonneau. The car sits on refurbished steel wheels with good chrome hub caps featuring the AH logo and are fitted with good 155/ 80/ 13 tyres. The paintwork is good and the chrome is excellent. The 1275cc engine fires up immediately, has great oil pressure and provides plenty of power for this small car. The four speed gearbox is smooth and precise. In the last 3000 miles it has had new coil, petrol pump, tyres, discs and pads, calipers, brake master, wheel cylinders, clutch slave, radiator, thermostat, water pump, king pins, fan, leads and plugs plus more. The gearbox has been rebuilt as has the suspension, brakes and steering. It drives really well and is ready to be used and enjoyed.
