The Appeal
Developed in secret during the occupation of France in the Second World War, the Renault 4CV met a similar brief to Citroën’s 2CV, another project hidden from German occupiers. Both were beautifully engineered, super-simple cars that were designed to help France back to its feet following the conflict.
This 1957 example presents impeccably following extensive bodywork restoration. The colour really makes it - a striking aquamarine blue which contrasts sharply with the bright red upholstery. The 1950s were arguably the most important decade in the history of French car making, and this 4CV is a fitting tribute to that golden era. We’re informed that it drives very well and is ready to be enjoyed.
