Highlights
- Same previous registered keeper for over 40 years
- Comprehensively and lovingly restored by current keeper
- Rare Sport model with twin carburettor 1,800cc engine as fitted to the 122s
- Period correct specification and ideal for historic rallying
The Appeal
It was built to withstanding harsh Swedish weather, but found its true calling on the world’s rally and endurance stages. The PV544 was the cursor to the 122 and and an equally unlikely sporting champion. All good reasons to want this 1959 model, which would make a great historic rally car - or just enjoy a stylish 50s classic.
As a Sport model it is fitted with the 122’s twin carburettor 1.8L engine. The vendor acquired it for nostalgic reasons and has lovingly restored it to a high standard. The previous keeper had owned it for 40 years.
The condition is a real credit to the current keeper. The white paintwork gleams, accented by chrome, and the red leather interior is well kept with some lovely period details. It sits on slightly wider rims to improve the stance. This is a really tidy, very usable PV544 in the right spec.
