The Appeal
If you’re after a usable modern 911 and you know your specs, then this 2006 997.1 feels like it ticks all the boxes. It is the elevated ‘S’ model with the larger and more powerful 3.8L flat six and clever PASM suspension system. There is also a manual box, AWD surefootedness and, of course, it’s a versatile cabriolet.
Finished in classic ‘triple’ black for the Basalt Black paintwork, fabric roof and leather cabin, it is a really well-presented car in great order for a 20-year-old car. It looks far younger, thanks to the low mileage, which averages just 3,800 miles per year.
The vendor acquired the car in 2014 and tells us that it has always been garaged and stored using a soft bespoke car cover. The history file backs up this sense of care, showing a regular run of servicing work by main dealers and specialists. Recent maintenance in 2025 included new front shocks, rear dampers, and a window regulator, plus a service in August 2024 and suspension arms in June of that year. Further back, there are plenty of invoices for work, which are included in the photos.
With an advisory-free MOT until late September 2026, this low-mileage, low-owner early 997 looks very tempting.
The vendor says:
"The 997 has been a fabulous car for us we have plodded around in the sunshine going for breakfast down to the beach and blasted the back roads to the New Forest for weekends away and every minute of driving her is memorable. This remember is one of the super cars of her day and still today point to point she is an amazing car to drive and can get you wherever you wish to go in comfort and style as slowly or swiftly as you like to drive ! Heated seats also work perfectly so roof down cold sunny days are a great experience."

The vendor says:
"We purchased the 997 in 2014 and have been custodians of her for more than 11 years and she has bought a smile to our faces every time she’s driven. We have garaged the car at all times . The garage is heated and the car has a custom fit soft protective cover that will be included with the car. We believe we are the third owners of the car as we have receipts from the previous two owners in the comprehensive document folder. The car has both the original keys and booklets supplied from new."
