The Appeal
The Morris Mini Clubman distinguishes itself from the classic Mini with its angular front end, introduced in the late 1960s as part of British Leyland's range modernisation. This 1974 1000cc version retains the Mini's compact format whilst displaying styling characteristic of the 1970s.
This example stands out for its original orange finish, described as uncommon. According to the information provided, the car has had only two registered owners since leaving the factory. Its first owner, a farmer based near Toulouse, kept it from 1974 to 2019. It was subsequently stored on a property that included a château used as a summer residence.
Acquired in 2019 by its current owner, the Mini underwent recommissioning, followed by professional bodywork restoration and a complete respray in 2021, carried out by Victoria Motors in Aytré. The engine was rebuilt by Tom's Shop, a Mini specialist in Surgères, and the clutch was recently replaced. Servicing has primarily been carried out by Tom's Shop and Automob'ile, at Château-d'Oléron.
The car combines a restored exterior presentation with several original elements, notably the blue vinyl interior. However, this shows signs of wear, whilst the front floors display corrosion and a small crack on the left side. The MOT is valid until July 2028.
