The Appeal
Retro-inspired design language was all the rage at the turn of the 21st century, and BMW's take on the formula was perhaps the most impressive. Penned by Henrik Fisker as a modern homage to the iconic 507, the BMW Z8 was hand-built at BMW's Dingolfing plant with an aluminium body and spaceframe chassis, and powered by the 400bhp 4.9-litre V8 from the E39 M5, mated to a six-speed manual gearbox. With only around 5,700 examples produced between 2000 and 2003, the Z8 has become one of the most collectable modern BMWs.
This example was first registered in October 2000 and has covered just 17,700 miles. It was acquired from the prestigious Hexagon of Highgate in March 2003 and has remained in the same ownership ever since. Service history is documented from the pre-delivery inspection onwards, with work carried out by BMW specialists throughout.
For those seeking one of BMW's most celebrated modern classics in left-hand drive form, this long-term ownership, low-mileage Z8 warrants serious attention.OUL_7789 Luke Papworth.jpg6.67 MB

BMW built the Z8 as a single, fully-loaded specification with almost no standalone factory options (aside from colour combinations). Therefore, all Z8s came with neon tail lights and side indicators, electric sports seats, central instrument cluster, and acoustic soft-top cover. Commensurate with ultra-low mileage and a lifetime of careful ownership, this Z8 presents beautifully throughout. Bidders should note that the car comes with its original colour-matched hardtop, transforming this open car into a stylish coupé.
Under the bonnet, the Z8 houses the revered 4.9-litre S62 V8 lifted straight from the E39 M5, paired exclusively with a Getrag six-speed manual gearbox. Pushing 394 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels, it effortlessly propels the aluminium-bodied roadster from 0 to 60 mph in roughly 4.2 seconds. Our example has been well-cared for and used sparingly. It is to be supplied freshly MOT-tested, ready for its new owner.OUL_7917 Luke Papworth.jpg7.4 MB BEFORE YOU BUY
