Building a truly great grand tourer is no mean feat. To compete in the marketplace, a GT must be comfortable, fast, long-legged, good-looking, and reliable. Satisfying all these needs is rare, but the Jaguar XKR accomplishes all with distinction. These were brilliant cars, and remain a fantastic option for Continental road trips. The supercharged XKR convertible pairs a 4.0-litre supercharged V8 with a five-speed automatic in one of the more elegant open-top Jaguar designs of its era. Well-maintained examples with strong histories are becoming harder to find.
This car has been in the hands of one keeper for two decades, having been purchased from a dealer in 2006. It has been serviced annually throughout that time, initially by a main dealer and latterly by an independent specialist. Sensible preventative work has been carried out, including replacement of the troublesome plastic timing chain tensioners with metal items.

"I have loved this car since I first saw it in 2006. I think it is one of the most beautiful cars I have seen and it has been a joy to own and drive. It loves long winding roads and just eats up the miles. It is an effortless Grand Tourer and very quick if it needs to be. My late wife and I had wonderful trips in it, and so it is a big and emotional decision for me to put this car in auction. But due to my age and health, I can no longer devote the time and energy to maintaining it and driving it, and if I do not "move it on", it will just deteriorate, which it does not deserve. The way I "move it on" is important to me. I want it to be bought by an enthusiast who will love it and understands that it is not a "daily driver" and that it will require care and attention and that at 25 years old things can and will go wrong.
