The Appeal
Launching a new bike brand takes some chutzpah, but Mutt has succeeded and developed a loyal following with its distinctive retro-styled machines that blend street and scrambler style. But they’re not just showpieces - these bikes ride well, helped by low weight, upright riding position, and a 250cc single-cylinder engine. It is equally at home filtering through city traffic as it is threading along country lanes.
This 9,000-mile 2021 example has had just two registered keepers and has been garage-stored in London for most of its current ownership. The vendor describes it as being in very good overall condition, with the engine and exhaust remaining factory standard. The rear suspension has been upgraded with NJB shock absorbers, and a fresh pair of Avon Roadrider MkII tyres has been fitted. The previous owner also added Oxford heated grips, bar-end mirrors, a USB charging outlet, and aftermarket turn signals. The vendor reports service history documented in the original service book. With an MOT valid until August 2027, this RS-13 250 is ready to ride.
The vendor says:
“The Mutt is a great modern retro-classic bike. It turns heads everywhere I go, not only because of its smart looks, but also because it sounds rather good! It's a very easy bike to operate, with a commanding up-right riding position and a fairly light clutch. The upgraded suspension and tyres give me a lot more confidence in the corners than the stock setup, as well as making the bike feel safer in wet weather conditions. The bike is good in slow-moving traffic because of how light it is (120kg), but it really comes into its own on country lanes where you can give it some beans. Overall, though, it's well-balanced and can serve as a city commuter or a weekend countryside toy. I love the way it looks above all, it's the type of bike you always look back at when you walk away.”
