This is the 1st generation facelift model that ran for 2 years between 1988 and 1990.
These are rare cars now, even in Japan and are also one of only two cars built to take the Honda Motocompo (the Honda City/ City Turbo being the other).
This car was originally imported into the UK in 1999 “by a gentleman as a daily for a very good lady friend in the nineties, registered to him briefly (3 months) and ever since to her”, where it lived in Chiswick W4 and then Hornchurch, Essex. It was then sold in 2020 and then sold to me in 2022.
Having lived most of its life in London, the bodywork is scratched and battle-scarred. There is also a lot of lacquer peel too.
The aircon will need re-gassing, there are some dry leaves in the air ducts that will need to be cleared out and the windscreen washers have gummed up. There is a rust patch over the rear wheel arch and a couple of small areas of surface rust on the paint chips and a very small cigarette burn on the driver’s seat.
The car runs very well and has had new engine oil, coolant and auto transmission fluid in the last 500 miles (2022). If you are travelling far, I would advise bringing a trailer due to the inoperative windscreen washers.
