The Appeal

If you’re on the lookout for a modern classic, then this Rover Mini should be on your shopping list. In its most recent history, this example has had thousands spent to get it to the condition you see today, everything from a full respray and new decals to bushes and new floor pans.

With this modern work, it should now have many years left for you to enjoy it. This car is just waiting for you to get in and take it out to Mini events.

The History and Paperwork

  • This Mini started its life out in the idyllic area of Norfolk
  • It then finds itself in Salisbury, then Dorset, and finally London
  • This is until the current owner acquired the car in 2022
  • You can see from the copious amounts of paperwork that this car has been cared for
  • It has 10 stamps in the original service book and one from 2022 in a continuation booklet
  • Importantly there is an up to date V5 present
  • You’ll also find a few old MOT certificates
  • In 2015 the car goes in to get new headlights, a bonnet repair, a new grille, and a new fuel tank
  • In 2017 it has a lot of work was carried out with the invoice totalling just under £4,000
  • It gets a new paint job, new carpets, new bushes, and floor pans
  • This major invoice has been photographed along with the others
  • If you flick through the paperwork photographs, you’ll start to understand how solid this example should be
  • It is now time for you to become the next proud owner of this wonderful classic
  • Just think of all the adventures and fun excursions you can have with this Mini in the future

The Interior

  • The combinations of blues inside this Mini complement the exterior colour well
  • There are a set of navy blue leather seats fitted
  • Upfront these seats are in very good condition
  • You may observe a small tear to the driver’s side bolster, but this is the only obvious damage
  • In the rear, the bench seats look as if they have experienced little use throughout their life
  • Running throughout the car is a nicely presented light blue carpet
  • This carpet has been protected upfront with the use of Mini stamped rubber over mats
  • Looking up at the ceiling you’ll find the well-presented headliner, notice little the lack of sagging
  • On both of the doors, you’ll find the well presented door cards
  • The material match that of the seats fitted
  • There is some slight age-related wear to the chrome effect door handles and window winders
  • Up front, there is a cool brushed aluminium effect dashboard
  • Set into this are some of those creature comforts you get in a modern classic
  • Namely an FM radio, heater, and even an analogue clock
  • There are also a couple of vital driving gauges fitted too, like the voltage meter and oil temperature gauge
  • Sitting behind the steering wheel is a brace of dials too
  • These are the usual speedo, tacho, fuel gauge, and a water temperature gauge
  • There is some slight, spiders web type, cracking to the silver plastic binnacle
  • Overall, the interior is in very good condition
  • You should be able to enjoy this interior from the day you pick the car up

The Exterior

  • Finished in Island Blue this Mini looks resplendent in the sun
  • The colour is further enhanced by the gold pinstripes and regal 40th-anniversary logos
  • All of the alloy wheels fitted look to be in good condition, as do the tyres
  • The chrome bumpers, front and rear, still return a good reflection
  • There is a slight dent in the rear bumper
  • Up front, the headlights and grille are in good condition
  • Looking around the car there are some areas of paint bubbling
  • A lot of the major welding work has been completed within the past 10 years
  • Nothing quite beats the looks of a classic Mini
  • Wherever you take this car a lot of people will take notice of it
  • Presented in good exterior condition, you may wish to tart up a few areas
  • This will look great in your collection so don’t miss out

The Mechanics

  • Under the bonnet, you’ll find a 1275cc fuel-injected engine
  • Starting easy upon turning the key it idles nicely
  • It also provides a nice throaty tone through the dual exit exhaust
  • You can see from the paperwork that this car has been looked after mechanically
  • It has a lengthy MOT currently, running out in September
  • This should be a fun little pocket rocket to thread through some country lanes
  • On the day of the photos, it started up and maneuvered into position a couple of times without issues
  • Some photos are showing it running and charging the battery as it should
  • You should have a lot of fun at the helm of this classic

Summary

This Mini is going to be a great purchase for you. It can provide clean and simple motoring with not many electronic interferences, it’ll just be you and your driving skill.

Classic Minis are not also great to get behind the wheel of, they also appear to be a good place to put your money. All you have to do is look at the prices over the past few years to see what they’re doing. You can’t go wrong with a Mini.

About Max Bids

The max bid process allows you to bid without any hassle.

Enter your maximum bid and we will then bid on your behalf to ensure you're the highest bidder - just enough to keep you in the lead and only up until your maximum.

Anti-sniping

Car & Classic prevent auction snipers from bidding in the last seconds to win an auction.

Auctions are extended by 3 minutes if anyone bids within the last 2 minutes to allow other bidders to react and counter-bid.

Auto-bidding increments

  • If your maximum bid is equal to or below the reserve price, your maximum bid will be applied in full if you are the highest bidder.
  • If you are the highest bidder and place a maximum bid above the reserve, we will automatically put in the reserve as your first bid.
    • Once the reserve has been met, Car & Classic will make sure you are the highest bidder using only the bidding increments stated below.
    • We will keep you in the lead up until your maximum bid OR the increment closest to your maximum bid, providing your maximum bid is enough to cover the increment value.

Bid Amount Increment
£0 to £9,999 £100.00
£10,000 to £49,999 £250.00
£50,000 to £99,999 £500.00
£100,000 + £1,000.00

Automatically outbid immediately

When you place a max bid and are outbid immediately that means that another bidder has placed a max bid limit which is higher than yours.

You can bid again and we will use our automatic bid system to try and get you as the highest bidder.

Matching max bids

When there are two max bids of the same value, the one placed first remains the lead bidder.

Pre-authorisation

We may hold a pre-authorisation charge on your card until the end of the auction when the hold will be cancelled. If you win, we'll take a security deposit which counts towards the payment for the vehicle and isn't any extra cost to you.

What are pre-bids?

A pre-bid means you're able to place a bid before the official start of the auction.
You will be notified whether or not you are the highest bidder when the auction starts.

Problem with your bid

Bids are contractually binding. To help protect you, we have some rules in place if we think it's been mistyped. Please check and amend what you have entered.
