Motodrome offer this 1961 example of the ever-popular Land Rover Series II, this one an 88in soft top 2. 25 petrol model.
It’s been rather rattily hand-painted, but in my opinion seems sound and solid enough, and drove well on test.
Fitted with: Series 3 all-synchromesh gearbox, twin rear benches meaning it can accommodate 7 (at a pinch), freewheel front hubs, and towpack. It still carries it’s original type sprung steering wheel, rotary vent controls, and deep modesty covers.
Last owner since 2005, who tells us he used it pretty much daily.
Odometer reading 72000 miles.
Whilst it now qualifies for MOT exemption, it’s MOT’d to July 2019 with no advisories. The MOT database shows it’s a) been in continuous use since 2006 and b) hasn’t failed an MOT on structural corrosion in this time. Also qualifies for historic ( free) road tax.
