Under Long term lady ownership for several decades, this car is a very original example with original cream leather & wool headlining to the inside & a very untouched feel to it overall. The current owner purchased it from her mother who in turn acquired it from the third long term owner.
During the current tenure the car has been garage kept & used for high days & holidays with a yearly service being perfomred by a local mechanic near Carlisle. The car is staying with the owners to honour a family committment in the summer, but is available for sale prior to that if necessary.
This is an early non power steering Rolls Royce Silver Cloud 1, being first registered in May of 1957. On the road the car drives beautifully & absolutley as on of these ought. The 6 cylinder engine purrs along in unruffled silence. The gear box is one of the best I have experienced with imperceptible smooth gear changes, readily kicking down a gear when required.
A full set of tools is located in the appointed recess in the boot. Picnic tables are fitted to the rear of the front seats. The car sits on four good tyres & is ready for immediate use. Under the bonnet the car is very original & again largely untouched. The supplying dealer was H. R. Owen.
A quick look underneath revealed solid & rust free chassis members. Indicated mileage is 42, 000, with about 10, 000 miles being covered in the current ownership. We do not have records to substantiate the mileage, other then recent incremental MOT's showing 500 or so miles each year.
These Rolls Royce Silver Cloud 1's are a pleasure to drive & to my mind purer & more pleasant then the later V8 models. It presents smartly in its black & cream colour scheme.
