In Porsche Paladio silver with 1974 Chrysler Bronze top.
This stunning, custom built Split screen Crew cab Pick Up beautifully created as a Samba windowed Double Cab, was done at great cost for a Lottery winner.
The body was built by Paintbox in Essex. The cab was extended by 12" and a Samba roof was fitted and now features proper rear seats with seat belts and twin rear doors. The rear deck was shortened and fitted with timber slats and is covered by an electrically operated, hydraulic cover which works beautifully. There are three C. D. players, a Sat Nav unit, a full cream leather interior by Boge and cream carpets.
The engine is one-off 2. 2 litre unit knocking out 180 BHP, built by Martin Taylor of Taylor Machine Services with twin Weber fuel injection and is suitably dressed up. The rear brake set up is Porsche 356. The front suspension has has recently been upgraded to a Red 9 twin wishbone, coil over set up with disc brakes, so it is a doddle to steer.
The bespoke bodywork, paintwork and interior are outstanding and the underside is prepared to the same standard.
The Crew Cab has won prizes and remains in stunning order throughout.
