The Golf 'Driver' was built to have the great looks of the GTI without the price tag. With the twin headlamps and sunroof, it has more luxuries than the standard Golf Mk2 and coupled with the 1600 four-cylinder engine, it's more economical than the 8v 1800 alternative.
Exterior Features
The Golf features the early model small bumpers and is finished in the factory colour light metallic blue. The 'Driver' spec has a manual sunroof and twin headlamp slatted front grille.
Wheels & Tyres
The original steel wheels are all in good condition and have VW silver centre caps. Each of the four tyres are have a very good tread depth.
Interior Components
The VW has a light grey interior with a tartan-style upholstery on the seats. The seats are not ripped and the carpets and door cards are in very good condition. The manual gear box has 5 gears and the period radio is working as it should.
Mechanics
The Golf Mk2 is sturdy and robust and mechanically, this example is no exception. The transmission is smooth and engine is responsive. With many of the service parts being recently replaced, it runs smoothly and is ready to be enjoyed.
Sevice & Maintenance
The Golf has undergone our 80 point mechanical inspection and full service including replaced spark plugs, new timing belt, head gasket replacement, new battery and brake shoes and cylinders. There is also a new 12 month MOT and includes our 3 month warranty.
Drive & Comfort
