It’s 1979, and Honda has a new motor which is used to fuel its MB and MT line of small capacity motorbikes. The MB was hugely successful, and seen as a do-anything motorbike that was incredibly well equipped. The MB line branched into the new MT range that was bred as an off-road capable machine, which gave the Honda an even more approachable and do-anything approach - this was a real go anywhere bike in a time before adventure bike and off-roaders got bloated. A perfect middle ground for people who didn’t want to commit to a dirt bike, and rugged everyday commuter. New regulations that came into effect were to blame for eventually killing off this line.
So what you get is something really special. It’s good looking in a function-over-form way, with high-strung, protected exhausts, rugged plastics and a giant raid fender for more off-road capabilities. It’s a very 80s shade of bright orange with a deep purple seat and yellow trim and detailing. It’s an acquired taste - but no one can say they didn’t see you on this! This is a mid-mileage model, and it wears it’s age very well considering the kind of bike this is. This would be a great do-everything bike for someone who doesn’t want all the bells-and-whistles of the new big Beemers and Tigers. It would also make a fantastic daily commuter. It has plenty of life left in it, and it will make whoever buys it extremely happy.
