Description
Wolseley Hornet MkII: Show Car/ Superb History
The Hornet was released as an upmarket market version of the BMC Mini with a finned body/ Wolseley light up chrome radiator and a leather/ walnut interior that was well received by the upwardly mobile when introduced in 1961.
Our stunning Hornet has clearly been cherished over the years and is in truly remarkable condition – the pictures speak for themselves. The first lady owner retained the car for over forty years and every year she sent the car to Park Avenue Garage, Eastbourne for the annual MOT and service/ remedial work. The Wolseley has now had a total of just four owners and was restored in 2007/ 08
Work included:
· new paint in the original two-tone (Birch Gray/ Yukon Grey) colour scheme
· re-chromed bumpers, grill etc
· re-furbished seats and new carpets
· mechanical components as required
· History file contains a huge number of invoices from 1975 onwards, drivers handbook and original sales brochure
This delightful Hornet looks and smells like a two year old car and was only sold by the owner because of lack of use, just 3, 000 miles in the last 10 years.
With an active owners club and values of high quality sixties Mini’s continuing to rise the Hornet represents an excellent investment and will provide immense pleasure to the lucky new owners for years to come.
