1967 Bedford Ca Dormobile Debonair, fibreglass top campervan, in need of restoration.
After a family bereavement this campervan has emerged after last being on the road in 1988.
After Light recommissioning the camper now starts and drives.
The engine runs very sweetly with no water or oil loss evident.
It selects all gears and pulls away smoothly.
The brakes only operate with the handbrake as the hydraulic wheel cylinders are sticking.
The chassis is in good condition apart from some corrosion to the rear outriggers which support the rear step.
The fibreglass body has suffered with some damage to the drivers rear corner. The timber bracing on the inside of the fibreglass side panels have rotted away making the side panel weak.
This rotten timber bracing seems to be evident behind the cooker and sink also.
The interior of the campervan has weathered due to damp and the cupboards and timbers don’t shut easily.
The cupboards under the cooker is rotten in its structure.
Ideally the whole interior should be removed , the sides reinforced with new timbers, repairs and replacement cupboards installed.
There are a few parts missing , these being
1. Front screen &rubber
2. rear corner plastic window
3. Front seats
4. Roof vent
5 front grille
6 front bumper.
