Triumph T110 – Show Bike/ Matching Nos
The Triumph Tiger 110 was produce at the Meriden factory between 1953 and 1961. The T110 was the sports option in the Triumph range being the most powerful/ fastest specification and the machine of choice for a whole generation of motorcyclists.
Just released from a private collection Milestones are delighted to offer for sale one of the best, matching numbers, early 110’s on the road today. In 2015 the super fastidious collector wanted to recreate the bike that he owned when he met his wife and commissioned a bike from Tony Healey, Coventry.
Tony, a retired precision engineer and former close friend of Hughie Hancox, agreed to undertake the no-expense-spared project
The exacting rebuild took place during 2014/ 15 and included:
· Matching numbers/ UK 1955 Tiger 110 identified/ purchased
· Frame stripped and all joints/ welds inspected – no issues
· Frame powered coated in black
· All tin ware back to bare metal/ inspected - excellent condition
· 5 coats of primer/ flat with 180 paper
· 5 coats of primer/ flat with 400 paper
· 5 coats of Triumph Shell Blue
· Engine rebuilt that included re-ground crank, new big-end shells and main bearings, new barrels with 8:1 pistons, new valve guides etc.
· New carburettor
· Gear box stripped/ inspected.
· All bearings/ bushes/ moving parts replaced
· Front forks/ rear swinging arm & hubs stripped/ rebuilt
· New wiring loom and magneto reconditioned
· Seat striped/ new foams/ recovered
· Wheels rebuilt with new chrome rims & painted to factory specification
· Exhaust pipes (Harris) and silencers (Armours)
Today the paint work, chrome and mechanic condition of the bike is better that when she left Meriden – not a rounded off nut on the machine and top factory specification
I have owned Triumph’s since I was 16 and, like the T100 from the same collection, I will be very very sorry to see this stunning machine leave our showroom.
