This lovely Hillman Avenger is almost totally original and has lived most of it's life in Essex, having originally been purchased from Ray Powell Ltd of Romford. Just 2 elderly owners until 2008, the only major work it has had was a high quality respray about 12 years ago, the paint being a bit faded and a few bruise marks.( I do have a couple of pictures prior to respray) All the panels are original and it has never been welded. The interior is excellent with original seats and carpets, the dash is perfect and has no cracks. The steering wheel is also like new and the enamel shows no sign of wear. The car is in show condition, and would need little to make into top concourse condition.
Hillman Avengers are now very rare, and especially in this condition. It is a completely standard car with the exception of the factory option vinyl roof. Many people have asked if it is a 'Top Hat' special edition; It is not, but a white vinyl roof was an option in 1973 available on most models in most colours. I remember the Hillman dealer I worked for at the time selling several Avengers and Hunters in Grasshopper Green with a white vinyl roof, In recent times I have only come across one other Avenger left in this striking combination. Only selling due to loss of storage.
