1979 Honda Gold Wing GL1000 The classic Wing! 43, 500 miles with 3 owners and MOTs from 29, 000 miles back in 1999. A truly unmessed with original GL1000 that has been superbly maintained and cared for. The Honda Gold Wing GL1000 has a horizontally-opposed flat four motor. Built really to convert Harley Davidson riders in America to a more civilized stead and it worked. Not a light weight but who cared look at a Harley Davidson. It had 80BHP at 7500 RPM and claimed 125 MPH from its 999cc single-overhead cam, two valves per cylinder, water-cooled flat four motor. It was smooth, oil tight, reliable and did not give you "vibration white finger" when you rode it! Not only did it capture the American market, soon Europe caught on and started ditching there BMW's for this luxury cruiser. They rained from 1975 to 1979 in this guise and to find a good one today like this is not easy. As they were well loved many have done mental miles, Been customized and latterly basically used to extinction. So our example is excellent, lovely original black paint finish, great chrome and original exhausts which are not busting out in rust eruptions. It starts on the button and runs great, nice and even on tick over. It's fitted with period luggage and a "King and Queen" seat for extra comfort. It's tyres are great and its just had a brand new battery. It's supplied with loads of invoices for normal service items, V5C, HPi certificate (clear), MOT history, workshop manual and spare keys.
