We are delighted to present our stunning 1972 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia. A low owner, low mileage car that has been registered in Ireland from 1974. An original U. S car that was imported by its original keeper and registered in Co Meath in 1974, the car still retains its original Brown Irish log book.
Presented in Irish green, the bodywork on this car is absolutely stunning. Having had a major photographic restoration carried out on its body, this is one of the best sorted Karmann’s we have seen. The shut lines and paint quality is absolutely fantastic and the car is a pleasure to see in the flesh. Having had all the heating channels restored at this time, this was not just a quick paint job that was carried out on this car. All glass, seals and engine were removed to get a fantastic finish.
As for the interior, the car still retains all its original trim. The seats and carpets have aged extremely well, as has the original head cloth. The interior is genuinely time warp and has a beautiful patina that could not be replicated by re-trimming the car. All glass is in good condition and we have a genuine new front screen ordered due to delamination.
On the road, the car drives as good as she looks. We have recently carried out a full service and detailed inspection of the car. At this time the carburetor was replaced, as was the points, condenser, rotor and distributor cap. The car fires instantly and pulls remarkably well through all gears with zero smoke from the exhaust. The gear change on this car is exceptionally good and makes for an excellent tight drive.
Presented with an original book pack, two sets of keys and receipts for over €13000 spent on the cars restoration. This is one of the finest on the market and would make any collector happy.
