The MK4 Escort was produced between 1986 and 1992. It was essentially a facelift of the all new fwd MK3 with upgraded front and rear styling and various tweaks to improve the handling and ride quality.
This car is a 1988 Ford Escort 1. 3 “Popular” 1. 3 in Rosso Red. The mileage is correct at just 36, 000 from new and it has had just two owners, mother and son from new and comes with a full service history, seven stamps in the book and one on invoice, all at Ford main agents. It is in remarkable original condition, never welded and drives perfectly. The factory paint is still bright and other than a couple of stone-chips that have been touched in on the bonnet, is more or less un-blemished. On the road this low mileage Escort runs and drives perfectly – the original pushrod “Kent” engine is quiet and responsive.
It has covered only a few hundred miles recently years but has been regularly driven and has been fitted with a new brake servo, rear shocks and exhaust in recent years. We have also just carried out an overhaul of the rear brakes.
This outstanding Escort offers an inexpensive entry on to the classic Ford scene and can only increase in value if kept in the current condition. Comes with every original document from new, dealer pack, instruction manual service book, spare key and old MOTs back to the first one in 1991.
