Best regarded as a project, or perhaps a rolling restoration, this rare Isis appears to be quite sound underneath, the 2. 6 litre 6 cylinder engine starts easily and is as sweet as a nut, the body panels all have patches of rust but do not appear to be full of filler, the roof has a lot of surface rust, we have the rear screen and rubber but it would make sense to paint the roof before inserting it, the driver’s door window is broken and will need replacing – it is flat glass and shouldn’t be a problem. Many Isis parts are anyway in common with the Oxford of similar vintage. Chromework is generally very good, interior is pretty good also, the engine bay is very tidy, lights, indicators etc are all working, the car has been driven down our lane, it runs well, stops as expected, and the column gear-change works fine. It will need a little re-commissioning and other work to be made road-worthy (so it should not be driven away), and painting to become presentable again, but it is a nice project well worth saving, the engine alone is valuable and it has a nice registration, tow-bar and V5C. Reduced to £1, 500.
