This rather special BMW street custom has just been built by a good customer of ours, and were delighted to be able to take into stock.
The bike started life as your average R series airhead, but as you can see, has now been totally transformed.
The heart of the beast is a standard, and very fit R100 RS motor. Prior to installation, this was stripped, inspected, and rebuilt with new gaskets, seals, pushrod grommets, etc, and is running an even 150 psi on both cylinders.
I guess that the pictures tell most of the story, but new parts included:
. 2 x TT100 tyres
. Monza alloy cap conversion.
. 2 x fuel taps and filters.
. 2 x carb overhaul kits
. Custom engine cover
. Custom manual choke conversion
. 2 x pod air filters
. 2 x braided brake hoses.
. Brake master cylinder.
. 4 x indicators.
. Stainless steel custom exhaust system.
. Bespoke custom seat.
. Bespoke custom bodywork.
. Bespoke custom subframe.
. Custom rear sets.
. Headlight brackets.
. Custom Bar grips.
. Rear shocks and stainless shrouds.
. Acewell digital speedo / rev counter unit
. Most fixings in stainless steel.
All of the above, and much more, was assembled into a blasted and painted main frame, with major items such as the subframe, swinging arm, battery box, etc, etc, blasted and black powder coated. ALL fluids in engine, box, bevel, brakes etc are of course new.
Not only does the bike go very well, it also handles and stops WAY better than your average custom, helped greatly by that Uber smart Triumph twin disc set up at the front.
As i say, the bike has literally just arrived, so we’ll be riding and snagging the new build this week. It will come with a fresh MOT, and in a couple of years time will, of course, be tax and MOT free as it becomes Historic status.
We’ve priced the bike VERY competitively, and way less than we feel you could produce a similar spec machine for. Having said that, we’re big fans of the airhead boxer, so always happy to consider YOUR Airhead Boxer in part exchange.
